I never thought I would refer to the zombie apocalypse in a 242 article, but that day has arrived. Save your canned goods and lock your doors. Judgment Day is officially here. Well….sort of.
Tonight marks the opening of this year’s musical, Pom Pom Zombies. Yes, that’s right. It’s a musical, about zombies. This sci-fi spoof on those 1960’s beach blanket films promises to offer more scares than a Bela Lugosi classic and more laughs than a 2010 rom com. The students and faculty have been working tirelessly since returning from break to fine tune the set, their characters, and songs like "Don't Touch the Hair," "It's Cool to Be a Nerd," "My Girlfriend's Dead (And I'm Gonna Be in Trouble),” and "Voo-Doo Shoo-Be-Doo". If you happen to be in the area this weekend, or know someone who might be interested in attending, a few tickets are still available for 7:30pm shows tonight, Saturday and a Sunday 2:30pm matinee.
