Eagle Hill School is proud to announce that Isa Greenberg ’16 won first place in the upper school division of the second annual Learn the Address National Competition held at the Cambridge School in New Jersey over the weekend. Launched over 37 years ago at Greenwood School, an all boys’ school in Putney, VT, the competition brings together students from throughout the country to memorize and deliver The Gettysburg Address. Contestants deliver the address in front of hundreds of people and are evaluated on accuracy, pace, poise, presence, and emotional emphasis. Isa earned her place at the National Competition after winning Eagle Hill’s school-wide competition in March. In the words of Greenwood’s headmaster Stewart Miller: “I’ve heard the Gettysburg Address delivered by hundreds of students over 17 years, but I’ve never heard as moving of a recitation as Isa’s.” We congratulate Isa and are exceptionally proud of this accomplishment. Eagle Hill School will be hosting the national level competition next year here in Hardwick.
