Ad Hoc, a new peer reviewed scholarly journal, will be published biannually in electronic form. The purpose of Ad Hoc is to publicize, and offer a forum for discussion of, cutting edge ideas about effective classroom practices and equitable solutions to providing education.

The journal will publish articles and reviews in two main areas of education:

Education theory, particularly concerning innovative solutions to providing equitable education at the institutional level

Effective classroom practices that reach both mainstream learners and students who struggle with conventional instruction.


Topics of interest in these two main areas include:

  • Research concerning effective instruction at the classroom or institutional level
  • Classroom practices that effectively reach struggling readers, writers, students of math and science
  • Approaches to art, athletics, and other extra-curricular activities that benefit various types of learners
  • Theory of institutional organization, culture and administration

Eagle Hill School is a private co-educational college preparatory boarding school for students with learning disabilities in grades 8-12.
